Optometrists

Sight is one of our most precious and valuable senses, making the the care of our eyes among our biggest health priorities. As an optometrists, also known as doctor of optometry (OD), you use special equipment and a keen eye to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases while testing patients for visual acuity, focus, depth and color perception. Although your training as an optometrist finds you prescribing and dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses, it can also provide vision therapy and, in some cases, rehabilitation as well, analyzing and testing results as you develop treatment plans. In the recent past, many optometrists have also become experts in laser vision correction, freeing many of patients from their glasses or contacts entirely.
